Coronavirus: 227 new cases, 192 recoveries, 18 deaths

ALGIERS- A total of 227 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 192 recoveries and 18 deaths have been reported over the last 24 hours in Algeria, the ministry of Health said Tuesday in a statement.

The number of confirmed cases in Algeria amounts to 200,528, including the 227 new cases in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths to 5,614 and that of recovered patients to 137,052, the statement said.

In addition, 31 patients are under intensive care, according to the statement.

The statement added that 22 provinces have had no positive cases in the last twenty-four hours, 17 others have reported between one and nine cases while nine provinces have recorded at least 10 cases.

The ministry stressed that the current epidemiological situation requires vigilance and observation of the rules of hygiene and physical distancing.

It recalled the obligation of compliance with the lockdown measures and wearing of masks.
