Ambassador Madjid Bouguerra hosts the new US-Algerian Business Council Chairman, Andrew Whitman

Today, April 27th, 2018, H.E.Mr. Madjid Bouguerrra, Ambassador of Algeria to the United States of America, had a fruitful discussion, at the Embassy of Algeria in Washington D.C, with Mr. Andrew Whitman, the new Chairman of US-Algerian Business Council (USABC).

The meeting focused on enhancing trade and investment promotion between Algeria and the United States of America. Ambassador Bouguerra congratulated Mr. Andrew Whitman for his election as the new USABC Chair and assured him of his full support in fulfilling the important missions of the Business Council.

"We count on your support too", said the Ambassador to the new Chair. Mr. Whitman agreed with the Ambassador Bouguerra that Dr. Smail Chikhoune, USABC President, is doing a great job, and expressed his full willingness and readiness to help and support in more improving Algeria-USA trade and investment relations.

Ambassador Bouguerra highlighted the USABC accomplishments in promoting trade between the two countries and urged the new Chair to expand its mission to encouraging more American investments in Algeria. "We need more American investments in Algeria not only trade" said Ambassador Bouguerra. Also, the meeting was an opportunity for the Ambassador to underscore the new favorable business climate in Algeria and the many investment opportunities to be seized.

He enlightened USABC new Chair, particularly, on the new political will and strategy of economic and partnership diversification adopted by the Algerian government. In this regard, Ambassador Bouguerra praised the valuable contribution of the USABC to the upcoming (during the first half of September 2018), Algeria Economic and Cultural Week in Washington D.C, aimed to be a valuable opportunity to show Algeria economic and cultural potential to Americans and to give a clear idea to Algerian economic operators on practical modalities on the access to the American market.

Algeria's Ambassador urged the new Chair of USABC to take advantage of his forthcoming participation in the International Fair of Algiers to meet with key Algerian partners and to explore firsthand investment and business opportunities in all sectors.
