ANNOUNCEMENT: CONCERNING THE VOTE BY PROXY

Following the Presidential Decree dated September 15th, 2020 on the referendum on the amendment of the constitution taking place on November 1st 2020, the Embassy of Algeria in Washington, D. C. wishes to inform members of the Algerian community registered within its circumscription’s electoral list that pursuing to a ruling (link) by the National Independent Authority on Elections dated October 6th, 2020, the electors residing abroad registered on the electoral lists can vote by proxy if unable to be physically present in a diplomatic or consular polling center.

Algerian nationals wishing to pursue their right to vote by proxy must do so by filling out and signing a form either in a diplomatic representation or use this form (link) signed and notarized, if unable to visit a diplomatic representation.

Furthermore, the proxy must be issued within fifteen days (15) after summons of the electorate and three days (03) prior to the Election Day.
