APS - 16 October 2021

ALGIERS- President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune said on Saturday that he grants a "special" interest to the concerns of the national community abroad, praising the community's honorable nationalist stances and support in hard times.

"I'm strongly committed to addressing the concerns of our community, and protecting its interests," said President Tebboune in a message on the eve of the National Immigration Day marking the 60th anniversary of the 17 October 1961 massacres.

Our diplomatic and consular centres are called upon to develop their working methods, in terms of interaction with members of the community, through modern methods, in order to alleviate the suffering of our fellow citizens living abroad," he added.

"I take this opportunity to pay tribute to their honorable nationalist stances, which they have shown on many occasions.. This is normal, when we know that the blood of our valiant Shouhadas (martyrs) and Mujahedeen (veterans) flows in their veins," the head of state said.

President Tebboune further called on "Algerian men and women to join the process of building a promising era, where there will be no place for defeatists, enemies of merit and competence... Those who like to perpetuate the practices and conspiracies of the Issaba to hinder the revival of national economy and challenge the will of the faithful nationalists who want to liberate society from their plundering of the country's wealth through swindling, theft and waste... Those whom I have always warned to crack down on with an iron fist by force of law... what punishment will they receive!..."

"Determined to cut the tentacles of this pernicious Issaba and to unmask its malicious plans, Algeria will welcome with wide open arms all its children living abroad," said the President.
