APS - 23 June 2022

ALGIERS-Algeria strongly condemned Monday the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Diallassago and other localities in Bankass, killing 132 civilians.

"Algeria strongly condemns the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Mali (Diallassago) and two other localities in Bankass, killing 132 civilians," said Wednesday in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad.

"In this painful circumstance, Algeria offers its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of these criminal acts and assures the Malian people and state of its fraternal solidarity in this ordeal," the statement said.

"The hateful relentlessness of the terrorist hordes on defenseless populations reminds us, once again, of the need to eradicate this scourge alien to our societies and the values and faith of the Malian people brother," said the same source.

"Algeria calls for a firm response from the African Union, as well as the international community as a whole, and stresses the urgency of increased mobilization to eliminate this scourge that continues to grow on our continent," the statement said.

"Algeria also stresses the need for rapid and substantial progress in the implementation of the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Mali resulting from the Algiers Process to strengthen the capacity of the Malian state and its authority throughout its national territory," said the source.
