"Stones in my Pocket," shortlisted for Jean-Luc Lagardere Foundation´s Arabic Literature Award

ALGIERS- "Stones in my Pocket," by novelist Kaouther Adimi, has been included in the shortlist for the fourth Arabic Literature Award of Jean-Luc Lagardere Foundation and Arab World Institute.

In her second novel "Stones in my Pocket," published in Algeria, in 2015, by Barzakh Publishing House, and in France, in 2016, by Seuil Publishing House, Kaouther Adimi recounts her own memories, corresponding to chapters of Algeria's history, to highlight themes like the situation of women and immigration.

Born in 1986 in Algiers, Kaouther Adimi published her first novel "The Other Side of the Others" in France, in 2011, through Actes Sud Publishing House, and which was published in Algeria, in 2010, by Barzakh Publishing House under the title "Ballet Shoe of Papicha".

The author has also written two short stories, namely "The Sixth Egg," published in 2011, and "Whisper of Angels" in 2007.

She has won many literary awards in Algeria and in France, including FELIV Award in 2008 and the Literature Award of Vocation, in 2011, for her novel The Other Side of the Others.
