American partner is invited to contribute to the increase in the volume of non-hydrocarbon exports from Algeria

The Algerian Minister of Commerce, Mr Said Djellab, invited the American partner to contribute to the increase in the volume of non-hydrocarbon exports from Algeria, particularly in the areas of agri-food products and tourism, and notably in the context of post-removal of the investment rule 51/49.

This statement was expressed by the Minister at a meeting in Algiers on October 20, 2019, with the Executive Director of the Business Program at Harvard University, Craig Vangrasstek, in the presence of the United States Ambassador to Algeria, John Desrocher.

The Minister also stressed the importance of benefiting from the US export experience, and opening up new opportunities for partnership in order to boost economic growth as part of the government’s strategy to promote economic development, preserve foreign exchange reserves and encourage Algerian foreign trade.
