IMF Mission Chief stresses Algeria's willingness to embark on economic reforms

ALGIERS- International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Algeria Jean François Dauphin praised Sunday, in Algiers, the country's real willingness to embark on a real economic reforms.
"There is a real will today to embark on the path of (economic) reforms to achieve sustainable growth, the most inclusive possible, and which will provide more jobs to the young regardless of oil prices," the IMF official said following a meeting with the minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Mohamed El Ghazi.
It is, however, a long process as economy cannot be transformed overnight, according to Dauphin, who is leading and International Monetary Fund mission to Algeria as part of the annual IMF consultations on Algerian economy.
The IMF official greeted the "resistance" of the job market in Algeria in the face of oil prices fall since 2014.
