President Tebboune orders renewal of maritime transport fleet

ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at a Council of Ministers meeting he chaired on Monday, ordered the renewal of the maritime transport fleet through the acquisition of new ships, a Council of Ministers' statement said.

On the implementation of the roadmap relating to the development of the maritime cargo transport fleet, President Tebboune gave instructions to renew the fleet through "the acquisition of new ships," the statement noted.

He also directed the Transport minister to "draft a comprehensive and detailed report on the situation of the sector, defining responsibilities, to be submitted to the next Council of Ministers meeting."

"The Transport sector's revival requires fighting carelessness and sabotage attempts targeting the public company of maritime freight transport," the statement said.
