Lamamra in Kigali to attend AU-EU ministerial meeting

ALGIERS- The minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community abroad, Ramtane Lamamra, will be in Kigali, Rwanda, Sunday to participate in the second ministerial meeting African Union-European Union (AU-EU), the ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Two main topics are on the meeting's agenda, the first concerns cooperation between the two organizations with a view to strengthening capacities to combat the factors threatening peace and security in the two continents, Africa and Europe, and issues related to good governance, migration and the movement of people, the statement said.

The second is the promotion of investment to bring about lasting structural change in Africa and to improve the qualifications of the human factor in terms of education, Science and technology.

The Head of Algerian diplomacy will seize this opportunity to hold discussions with Rwandan counterpart, Vincent Biruta, in addition to planned talks with the high authorities of that country.

On the sidelines of this ministerial meeting, Lamamra will hold a series of bilateral meetings with his African and European counterparts on issues linking to the meeting's agenda.

The meetings will also focus on bilateral relations between Algeria and these countries as well as political and security issues at the regional and international levels.
