ALGIERS- President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Monday, in Algiers, the Head of Libya's Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Al Dbeiba.
"I was honored to meet today President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune with whom we have broached several issues, notably the next elections in Libya," Dbeiba told the press following the audience.
He said that "he presented, during the meeting, his government's view to execute this important project and move from transition to stability in Libya."
He underlined that the two sides discussed "Algeria's key role in favor of these elections and the necessity of holding them as soon as possible," as well as "supporting the economic cooperation between the two countries, notably in the field of oil and gas, in the light of the current global situation.
The meeting was held in the presence of Prime Minister Aïmene Benabderrahmane, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ramtane Lamamra, Principal Private Secretary to the Presidency of the Republic Abdelaziz Khellaf and Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Planning Kamel Beldjoud.
The head of Libya's Government of National Unity arrived Monday in Algeria as part of an official visit.
