ALGIERS-The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Sunday rejected any mediation with Morocco, saying "we cannot put on the same footing, the aggressor and the aggressed."
"Algeria will not accept any mediation with Morocco," said President Tebboune at his periodic meeting with media, recalling the statements of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ramtane Lamamra at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Arab League, where he had said that this issue would not be included in the agenda of the meeting.
"We cannot put on the same footing, the aggressor and the aggressed," said the Head of state, stressing that Algeria "has not committed any clumsiness ( ), nor attacked Morocco's national unity, if only by statements.
"Morocco has a historic record" in this matter, said the head of State who recalled Morocco's assault against Algeria in 1963 to despoil parts of the national territory.
He also castigated the expansionist ideology of Morocco and the conspiracies of this country which gave refuge to terrorists and granted them money and diplomatic passports.
After he affirmed that "Algeria is aware of the cost of wars because of the millions of shouhada (martyrs) that were killed during the Liberation War'', the president of the Republic said: "We are a resistant people who do not seek war, but rather peace. However, the one who seeks war...the one who attack us will bitterly regret it."
