A boulevard in Niamey named after President Bouteflika

NIAMEY (Niger)- A boulevard in Niamey, capital of Niger, was named, Thursday, after the president of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The naming ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and his counterpart of Niger, Brigi Rafini, who co-chaired, during the day, the works of the first Algeria-Niger High Joint Commission.
On this occasion, the mayor of Niamey said that the decision to name this 1.3-km long boulevard after President Bouteflika, comes from the president of the Republic of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou
The same official highlighted the friendly and fraternity relations between the two peoples of Algerian and Niger, mentioning the common history between them. He also said that Algeria has always supported Niger in its cultural and socioeconomic development process.
On this occasion, local officials expressed their “recognition to Algeria and to President Bouteflika, who have always been on the side of the African continent’s just causes.”
