APS - 14 March 2017
ALGIERS- Minister of Interior and Local Authorities Nouredine Bedoui said that the next legislative elections of May 4 will allow to reinforce the State’s institutions and to continue the democratic construction on which President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has always insisted.
In his presentation before the Committee on legal affairs of the Council of the Nation on the preparations for the legislative elections, Bedoui called on the political partners to “give a lesson to those who want to undermine the country and question about its capacity to continue the democratic construction on which President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika has always insisted.”
In a response to the concerns of the members of the Council of the Nation, the minister called on the political parties and civil society to “increase awareness campaigns for a large participation of citizens in the legislative elections.”
“Convincing citizens to vote is a collective responsibility which is incumbent upon the public authorities, political parties and civil society,” added Bedoui.
