APS - 02 January 2017
GUELMA- Algeria’s first and major challenge in 2017 will be to preserve its security and stability in the face of terrorist threats, affirmed Monday Minister of Interior and Local Authorities Noureddine Bedoui.
In a reply to the questions of journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration of the sub-prefecture of Heliopolis as part of his visit to the province, the minister said that “terrorist threats exist with regard to the situation in some neighbouring countries.”
Underlining that all the countries are facing terrorist threat, Bedoui said that it is necessary to tell the truth, in accordance with the guidelines of President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
The minister pointed out that during 2016, considerable quantities of arms and war munitions were seized and dozens of terrorists were eliminated thanks to the efforts and vigilance of the security services at their head the People’s National Army.
Threat to security and terrorist threat exist but the determination of the government and constitutional and security institutions is “stronger than this threat,” underlined the minister.
“Algeria which will organize legislative and local elections this year needs security and stability to implement the necessary conditions for the success of these events,” added Bedoui.
