Anniversary of 1 November 1954: Head of State pays tribute to National Liberation War martyrs

ALGIERS-Head of State, Abdelkader Bensalah paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the National Liberation War on Friday at the Martyrs’ Sanctuary, on the occasion of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution on 1 November 1954.
After greeting a detachment of the Republican Guard who honoured him, Bensalah laid a wreath of flowers in front of the memorial stele and recited the Fatiha of the Quran in memory of the martyrs.
Acting President of the Council of the Nation (Upper House), Salah Goudjil, Speaker of the People's National Assembly (Lower House), Slimane Chenine, Prime Minister, Noureddine Bedoui, Deputy Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army (ANP), Lieutenant General Ahmed Gaid Salah, as well as members of the Government and the Acting Secretary-General of the National Organization of Mujahedeen, Mohand Ouamar Benhadj.
