Covid-19: Algeria adopts treatment protocol, Chloroquine

ALGIERS- Algeria has adopted a treatment protocol, the "Chloroquine," to counter the coronavirus pandemic, said Monday the Ministry of Communication in a statement.

"The Chloroquine is an anti-malarial molecule commonly used in the treatment of malaria, rheumatic diseases and lupus," the source said.

"Studies began in China in February 2020 and are continuing in Europe," added the source.

"The treatment protocol has shown promising results against the coronavirus covid 19, by increasing the individual's immune capacity," added the ministry.

It is produced locally and in sufficient quantities to treat patients," the same source concluded.
