NEW YORK - The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) welcomed Algeria's initiative to create a field hospital in the Sahrawi refugee camps, highlighting the role of this humanitarian action in preserving the health of the Sahrawi people.
On its website, the UNHCR has welcomed this humanitarian action which intervenes amid the global health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The field hospital is dedicated to supply the Sahrawi people with quality care, which translates the solidarity which unites the two Algerian and Sahrawi peoples, reported the Sahara press service agency (SPS).
UNHCR reiterates its call to send the necessary support to the refugee camps to the various sectors to preserve the health of the Sahrawis.
During his visit on Sunday to the military field hospital made available by Algeria to the Sahrawis, President Ghali warmly welcomed "the important step taken by Algeria through the National People's Army (ANP) and the decision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to deploy a military field hospital, equipped with various health services and modern equipment, to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.
