2016 Paralympics/ Athletics: Algerian Sofiane Hamdi wins bronze

RIO DE JANEIRO (Brazil)- Algerian runner Sofiane Hamdi snatched, Friday, a bronze medal at the 400m (T37) of the 2016 Paralympic Games organized from 7 to 18 September in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

The Algerian athlete finished the race third in 53.01 behind South African Charles Dutoit (1st in 51.13) and Venezuelan Omar Monterola (2nd in 52.93).

Sid-Ali Bouzourene, the second Algerian taking part in the 400m of the T36 category finished 7th in 1:00.22.

Sofiane Hamdi offered Algeria its 14th medal in this competition: 2 gold, 5 silver, and 7 bronze.
