National football team: CAN-2019 semi-finals, coach Alcaraz's main goal

ALGIERS-The new coach of the national football team Spanish Lucas Alcaraz has engaged in a two-year contract with the Algerian Football Federation (FAF). The Spanish coach’s main goal consists in qualifying the Desert Foxes to the next African Cup of Nations (CAN-2019) in Cameroon and achieve semi-finals of this competition.
“I engaged in a two-year contract and set the goal to qualify the team to the CAN-2019 and the semi-finals,” affirmed the new coach in a press briefing held at the National Technical Center in Sidi Moussa (Algiers).
Alcaraz, aged 50, arrived to Algiers on Tuesday evening to take office as the coach of the national team.
During then press conference, the Spanish coach stated he would visit Oran Friday to attend the MCO-MC Alger game part of the 20th round of the Championship.
Alcaraz will work with two Spanish co-workers, namely assistant Jesus Canadas and a physical trainer Miguel Angel Campos, while a second Algerian assistant and a local goalkeeping coach will be appointed in the coming days.
Alcaraz will coach his first official game on 9, 10 and 11 June against Togo as part of the 1st round of qualifications to CAN-2019 (group D).
