ALGIERS- The ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad has welcomed the launch of the Diplomatic Forum for Solidarity with Western Sahara People, an initiative by a number of ambassadors accredited to Algeria, reiterating Algeria's constant support to the Sahrawi cause as a decolonization issue.
"Several ambassadors accredited to Algeria, representing different world regions, with the assistance of the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, launched the initiative of the diplomatic forum for solidarity with the Sahrawi people," the special envoy for Western Sahara Cause and Maghreb Countries, Amar Belani, told APS.
"Welcoming this laudable and commendable initiative, the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad expresses its constant willingness to support the forum's future activities shedding light on Western Sahara cause and solidarity with the oppressed Sahrawi people," the diplomat said.
In his capacity as the special envoy for Western Sahara cause, Belani reiterated Algerian State's position "in support of the just Western Sahara cause, a decolonization issue, in line with the international legitimacy and the principles of the international law."
He also stressed "the support of the Algerian people and government to our brotherly Sahrawi people in its legitimate struggle for its inalienable right to self-determination."
Belani seized the opportunity to congratulate "the brotherly people of Western Sahara and its leadership, for the latest victories of the Sahrawi cause at both political and legal levels."
