NEW YORK (United Nations)- Algeria's ambassador to the United Nations, Sofiane Mimouni, deplored Monday the inability of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO) to fulfill its mission thirty years after its creation, noting that numerous opportunities were missed to reach a just solution to Western Sahara conflict.
Mimouni, at the annual session of the Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24), criticized the "procrastination" and "obstacles deliberately set" against the referendum on self-determination in Western Sahara.
