Coronavirus: 305 new cases, 169 recoveries and 5 deaths in Algeria in last 24h

ALGIERS – Three hundred and five (305) new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 169 recoveries and 5 deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours in Algeria, Spokesman of the Scientific Committee monitoring the Coronavirus pandemic evolution, Dr. Djamel Fourar said Sunday in Algiers.

The total number of Covid 19 confirmed cases rose to 13, 273, i.e. 30 cases per 100 000 inhabitants, that of deaths to 897 while the number of recovered patients increased to 9371, Dr. Fourar told the daily news briefing on the pandemic evolution.
Persons aged 60 and over account for 75% of the total number of deaths, he said.

In addition, 33 provinces recorded rates below the national rate, while 21 others did not report any new Coronavirus cases during the past 24 hours. According to the same source, 13 provinces registered between 1 and 5 cases, while 14 provinces reported more than six each case.

In addition, 49 patients are currently in intensive care units, said Dr. Fourar.
Finally, he affirmed that the current epidemiological situation requires every citizen to be vigilant and observe the hygiene and physical distance rules, recalling the obligation wearing masks.
