Coronavirus: 587 new cases, 246 recoveries and 13 deaths in Algeria in last 24 hours

ALGIERS- Five hundred and eighty-seven (587) new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), 246 recoveries and 13 deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours in Algeria, said Tuesday in Algiers the spokesperson for the Scientific Committee for monitoring the Coronavirus pandemic evolution Dr Djamel Fourar.

The total of confirmed cases thus stands at 24,278, including 587 new cases, or 1.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants during the last 24 hours. The deaths rose to 1,100 cases, while the number of recovered patients rose to 16,646, Dr. Fourar told the daily press briefing on the Covid-19 pandemic evolution.

In addition, 4 provinces have not recorded any new positive cases for the Coronavirus during the last 24 hours, while 13 others have recorded between 1 and 5 cases, and 31 provinces registered more than six cases each.

In addition, 56 patients are currently in intensive care units, said Dr Fourar.
