Insulin: Oued Smar unit to enter into production by January 15

ALGIERS-The Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ali Aoun announced Tuesday in Algiers that the production unit of insulin pens, "Biothera" under the group "Biocare", will start its activity by January 15.

Speaking during a working visit and inspection to the production complex of Sanofi in Sidi Abdallah (West of Algiers), in the company of the Governor of Algiers, Abdennour Rabehi, Aoun said that this production unit "is already ready."

"The validation batches are completed and it will begin production by 10 or 15 January 2023," he said.

This unit will be the first to ensure local production of injectable insulin for single use for diabetics.
