ALGIERS-Algeria topped the raking of the Arab Mathematical Olympiad held in Tunisia, with three gold medals and one (1) bronze, said Monday a statement from the Ministry of National Education.

Algeria "participated (remotely) in the third edition of the Arab Mathematical Olympiad, organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) every two years, with a team of four students of secondary school, hosted this year in the Republic of Tunisia from 14 to 19 December 2022," said the same source.

"Algeria ranked first place at the Arab level in this scientific competition among 16 Arab countries, winning 3 gold medals and one (1) bronze medal," said the source.

The Ministry of Education noted "the excellence and exceptionality of the student Mohamed Wassil Medouar from Rabah-Bitat High School (province of Algiers) at the Arab level. He got the maximum score on all the tests and innovated new solutions that had never been used before. His brilliant performance was praised when the final results were announced.

The Ministry of Education congratulates the children of Algeria on this "performance", praising the "considerable efforts made by the President and members of the National Olympics Committee for educational subjects", affirming its "continuous willingness to achieve more success and excellence."
