Earthquake in Turkey, Syria: Algeria extends condolences to both governments, peoples

ALGIERS- Algeria has offered its sincere condolences to the families of the victims as well as the Syrian and Turkish governments and peoples following the earthquake that hit the two countries on Monday, causing significant loss of life and considerable damage, the ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad said in a statement.

"Following the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey's south and Syria's north Monday morning, causing significant loss of life and material, Algeria offers its sincere condolences to the families of the victims as well as the Syrian and Turkish governments and brother peoples," the statement said.

"Algeria, which shares the pain of this tragedy with its brothers in the Republic of Turkey and the Arab Republic of Syria, expresses its full solidarity with those two sister countries and hopes that they overcome this painful ordeal with a lot of patience, determination and courage."
