ALGIERS-The first edition of the national robotics competition, in which more than 500 innovators from various provinces, wrapped up on Saturday evening. Three teams composed of talented young people from Skikda, Setif and Constantine received awards for designing robots used in industry, energy and agriculture.
The first award went to "Sarpros" team from the province of Skikda, composed of young people aged between 19 and 25 years. "Edhia" team from the province of Setif, composed of young people aged between 12 and 18 years, won the second award. The third one went to "Forsane technologia Moumayaz" team from the province of Constantine.
The Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of the Knowledge Economy and Startups, Yacine El-Mahdi Oualid, as well as the Minister of Culture and Arts, Wafa Chaalal granted symbolic incentive prizes worth between DZD50,000 and DZD150,000 to the winners.
Speaking on this occasion, Yacine El-Mahdi welcomed the organization of such competitions that highlight the innovative capabilities of young Algerians in the field of technology and knowledge economy.
"My department will strongly support these innovators so that they implement their projects on the ground," promised Yacine El-Mahdi.
For her part, Chaalal urged "businesses to encourage such initiatives that stimulate innovation and support the national economy."
