DOHA-Algeria will play in group D with Egypt, according to the draw for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 that was conducted yesterday night at Katara Opera House in Doha.
In addition to Algeria (Africa champion) and Egypt, the group D includes the winners of Lebanon-Djibouti and Libya-Sudan matches.
The tournament will be played in two steps with a preliminary competition in which the 14 lowest-ranked teams will take part in seven single-leg matches, then a final competition in the form of group stage, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final game.
Scheduled for late, the Arab sporting event will be an opportunity to test facilities just one year before the first FIFA World Cup to take place in the Middle East and the Arab world. The finals will take on the Qatar National Day (18 December).
