ALGIERS- Algerian team of Koshiki Karate won eleven medals (5 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze) as part of the World Championship organized from 28 October to 1 November in Moscow (Russia), the Algerian federal body FAAK said on Sunday.
The five gold medals were grabbed by Ali Draifi (-80 kg), Mourad Tadjine (-60 kg), Zakaria Hadj Ben Ali (-75 kg), Abdelmalek Addar (-90 kg) and Hala Hayoun (-50 kg).
For their parts, the athletes Anouar Mazari (- 80 kg), Sid Ahmed Bouabid, Selma Hadjaj (-70 kg), Mohamed Abdaoui (-75 kg) won silver medals, while the bronze medals went to Ismail Drissi (+90 kg) and Kaouter Boubouma (-65 kg).
A total of 16 athletes of the national Koshiki Karate team (men and women) took part in the World Championship of Moscow (Russia), marked by the participation of 14 countries, namely Russia, Tunisia, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Japan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, India, Australia, Malaysia, Mali, South Africa, Senegal and Turkey.
